Hi everyone,
I had the harrogate exhibiton at the weekend, sold five paintings which was fantastic, but the reason i need advice is because a man approached me who is an art dealer. Apparently he is well known in the artist community. He says he is very excited by my work and wants to sell it for me. Apparantly he has loads of artists working for him, he buys the paintings of you and sells to reputable galleries in the UK. He has asked me to work for him, to start he will take some of my work (sale or return basis) and sell them to galleries. It will be a lot less than i can sell them for myself but he says he would want about 10 paintings a week and i would get a cheque at the end of the month. I am going to his studios next week to discuss this. At the minute i am tempted with the painting for a living but at the same time i am wondering if it is worth selling out and giving in to the middleman. I would appreciate your thoughts. Catx
